Terms of Service

Welcome to TENT Outdoor Marketplace (“TENT,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), an online marketplace operated at https://tentoutdoors.com where outdoor enthusiasts buy and sell handcrafted gear, innovative goods, and outdoor-related services. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).

1. Platform Description

TENT is a multi-vendor marketplace that connects independent makers, craftsmen, and outfitters with buyers. TENT acts as an intermediary marketplace venue; we do not manufacture, warehouse, or directly inspect items listed by independent sellers. Each sale is a transaction between the buyer and the respective seller.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or transact on TENT.
• Account Registration: You may register using your email and password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account.
• Suspension & Termination: TENT reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the platform.

3. Seller Onboarding & Obligations

• Sellers must complete a seller application, receive approval from TENT, configure an active storefront, and complete identity, banking, and W-9 tax onboarding via Stripe Connect.
• Sellers must provide accurate product descriptions, photography, pricing, stock quantities, and shipping timelines.
• All listings must comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws. Counterfeit, stolen, or illegal goods are strictly prohibited.

4. Payments, Commissions & Taxes

• Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely in US Dollars (USD) via Stripe Connect.
• Platform Commission: TENT deducts an 8% platform commission on physical product subtotals and a 6% platform commission on outdoor service subtotals, in addition to standard Stripe payment processing fees.
• Escrow & Deferred Payouts: Order funds are held in escrow until delivery is confirmed by the buyer or automatically confirmed after the 3-day post-delivery grace period, provided no dispute has been filed.
• Tax Reporting (1099-K):Sellers are responsible for reporting and paying applicable income taxes. If a seller's annual gross sales meet federal or state reporting thresholds, Stripe issues IRS Form 1099-K using the tax information provided during Connect onboarding.

5. Shipping, Tracking & Delivery

Sellers must ship paid orders promptly and provide valid carrier tracking information (USPS, UPS, or FedEx), either by generating a shipping label directly through TENT (powered by Shippo) or entering a verified carrier tracking number. Buyers and sellers can monitor live shipment checkpoints from their order dashboards.

6. TENT Buyer Guarantee & Disputes

TENT protects buyers when an item never arrives, arrives damaged, or is materially different from the listing description. Buyers may file a dispute within 30 days of delivery. Sellers have 5 days to respond before TENT administration reviews the claim and issues a resolution (full refund, partial refund, or dismissal).

7. Custom Orders, Reviews & Community Conduct

• Custom Orders: Buyers and sellers may agree to custom quotes on the platform. Once a custom order quote is paid and in progress, cancellations are governed by the agreed custom terms.
• Reviews & Brag Board: Reviews must reflect genuine customer experiences. Brag Board uploads and buyer-seller messages must not contain spam, harassment, unlawful material, or attempts to take marketplace transactions off platform to evade fees.

8. Intellectual Property

Sellers and users retain ownership of the photos, descriptions, and content they upload to TENT. By posting content on the platform, you grant TENT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote that content in connection with operating and marketing the marketplace.

9. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TENT provides the platform on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind. TENT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the platform or any products or services purchased through the marketplace.
